The Correlation between Degree of Pain or Number of Trigger Point and Constant Shoulder Function Test in Myofascial Pain Syndrome among VDT Workers

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare constant shoulder function test between VDT workers with & without trigger point and to access the correlation of constant shoulder function test with serving of pain or the number of trigger points.

The results were as follows;

1. The prevalence of moderate to severe shoulder pain in VDT workers was significantly higher than in controls by 72.1% to 8.7%.

2. When VDT workers were calssified according to the number of muscles with the trigger than two muscle case of the dominant shoulder was observed more frequently than that of nondominant site by 56 cases (70.9%) to 14 cases (17.8%). Classifying the controls in the same way, the results were 7 cases (10.1%) to 7 cases (10.1%). There was a statistically meaningful difference between VDT workers and the controls.

3. In VDT workers, there is a tendency the increasing number of trigger points are the lower score of constant shoulder function test.
